Bacon was invented long before the age of electricity as a means of preventing meat from spoiling. Now, however, in this modern age of canning, refrigeration and cryogenics, we don't need to make bacon anymore. And yet we do. Why? Because we love it.
Whether you're down with the New England Patriots or upholding the Seattle Seahawks, you and your friends and family can chow down on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 1) with harmonious gusto. Because no matter which team you root for, everyone will get behind a spread of Southwestern noshes.
Most of us have kitchen cupboards stocked with obscure jars or cans of this and that, items that speed preparation of our particular favorite dishes. For me, one constant is a jar of mole paste.
