Florida Legislature bans texting while driving; bill headed to the governor

After years of roadblocks, the Florida Legislature is sending a bill to the governor that authorizes police to stop drivers just for texting. Rep. Emily Slosberg, D-Boca Raton, fought for several years for a tougher law, but her bills kept stalling because of privacy and racial-profiling concerns.
