The NBA playoffs have the first No. 8 seed in a non-strike season reaching the Finals in an unprecedent postseason and the SEC spring meeting are off to an interesting start in Destin. Miami vs. Denver. It's the matchup everyone predicted to start the season, right? ... There's a lot on the minds of SEC coaches, including Florida's Billy Napier, with NIL, tampering and gambling. Some just shouldn't talk at all. Mizzou coach Eli Drinkwitz had a take so devoid of common sense that he should wake up this morning and apologize. Drinkwitz played the guilt trip card (and gave a glimpse of his contempt for the labor force that made him wealthy) when he complained that NIL is helping players make more money than his brother-in-law, who is a pediatrician. "He saves lives." In pro rasslin', this is called a cheap pop to get cheers from the peanut gallery. Predictable, cliche, one-dimensional and as original as a Hollywood remake of White Men Can't Jump. I'm willing to bet Eli 's brother loves working with children and isn't doing it to get rich. Otherwise he 'd have probably gone into plastic surgery. The market dictates sports and entertainers paychecks. Some YouTubers get paid six figures for making ridiculous reaction videos and never leave their couch. These aren't public service jobs. Neither is coaching college football. So how much does this 17-19 coach at Mizzou make while overseeing these unworthy souls benefiting from free-market capitalism? About $4 million a year. I'll take Complete Lack of Self-Awareness for $400, Alex. 🙄
