Sentinel Sports Final

Wednesday, May 24, 2023

Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi is aghast. A pro sports association, this time the PGA Tour, being petty and a broadcast partner in CBS with no backbone? They spoonfeed "scoops" to those "partners" and in turn they don't get asked tough questions on air. That's the deal. There's no journalism at play. The real grunt work is done behind the scenes by actual reporters without favor when no one is watching. ... UCF and USF just can't stay out of each other's way. With the Bulls upsetting top seed East Carolina, it sets up a rivalry date Thursday in the AAC baseball tournament. ... Its hard to believe former Magic coach Frank Vogel, who won a "bubble" championship with the Lakers, is above Nick Nurse and Mike Budenholzer for the 76ers job. Hopefully Vogel is treated better, no matter where he lands next, than he was in L.A. He took all the blame for a poor roster and then he learned of his firing after the front office leaked it to ESPN first. ... The postseason isn't going well for Orlando teams in FHSAA as the season draws to a close for baseball and softball. But at least no one lost 20-1 like the Rays.

Shamefully, Official World Golf Rankings don't recognize Brooks Koepka-led LIV Tour | Commentary

Seriously, how can the Official World Golf Rankings recognize 24 different tours – including those in Asia, Europe, Mexico, Thailand, Japan, Korea, China, Australia and even the Alps – but not acknowledge the existence of LIV?
