Sentinel Sports Final

Friday, February 23, 2024

Magic are 1-0 post-All-Star break. Only three games separate where they currently sit as a No. 7 seed and a No. 4 seed (homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs). Raise your hand if you saw this scenario as a possibility in October (if you see any hands raised, those are what we call liars). ... Looks like the folks in Gainesville need to take a trip to town and check out UCF and how to run an NIL collective. They wouldn't dare offer even a proven QB like KJ Jefferson $13.8M. ... Orlando City was pretty average in its first month or two of last season before catching fire. Imagine how much better the Lions would be if they can get out of the gates quicker? Well, they believe that's what will happen starting this weekend when the regular season commences. ... It appears that the closest Miami will get to the NCAA Tournament is the NIT. If that. I can't figure who is more unhappy with their team this week, Jim Larrañaga or Rick Pitno at St. John 's. Pitino basically told his team to transfer because they're so bad at basketball and make him miserable. What a low blow. Of course, not lower than what he did in Louisville at the Italian restaurant on Frankfort Ave. But low. 🤷🏽
