The wait is over. Colorado-UCF is here. The Knights are favored. See why. ... The Hurricanes are going deep. I know, they struggled against Virginia Tech, but Georgia struggled to win by one point vs. Kentucky a few weeks ago. Every championship-level team survives a scare and pulls out a miraculous game. The 12-team playoff makes a loss less impactful, of course, but Cam Ward winning the Heisman can be tipped by the regular-season record. Everyone likes to see the 0 in the loss column to bolster their position ... 1 more goal for Barbra Banda, who missed four games because of visa issues, and she'll surpass Marta (13) for most goals in a single season with the Pride. And given the opponent is Houston, she might double her total goals ... FSU is in danger of getting embarrassed if they're not careful. ACC newcomer SMU can score. FSU couldn't score with Madonna. The defense has to play lights out otherwise the offense can 't keep pace and they're right back to where they were before the win over Cal. ... The NCAA, which I know from personal experience during my time in Indy, was never prepared for NIL and the fallout and is demanding Congress save them doing their jobs. Congress should respond: "We'll help clean this mess up for you, but after we're done we wish you well in your future endeavors." Why does the NCAA exist if it doesn't have the foresight or backbone to govern? How can they justify their own paychecks with such an ask? This is what your company looks like when it had no plans in place or a single contingency for NIL. Sounds like a you problem. The NCAA failed to lead on the issue.

This is a chance for UCF to not only make itself a major player in the Big 12 -- though Colorado isn't an elite team -- and starting 4-0 for the first time in Gus Malzahn's three years as coach. A dominant win and there's a good case to make for the Knights being 5-0 after they play in Gainesville next weekend. Granted, beating the Gators today might be equivalent of bragging you beat an SEC team only to realize it was just Vanderbilt. ... There are 14 games left for the Jaguars and it's too early to pull any plugs, but they've gone from strong favorite to win the AFC South to just opeing they can equal 9-8 from last season. Which would be a major fail considering expectations (and how much Trevor Lawrence is getting paid now). ... Get pressure on Shedeur Sanders and good things can happen. Give him time and he can make your defense look like the Gators (wait, that's another dig at UF. Too soon?). ... The 'Canes play a rare Friday night game in ACC play. ... Remember Aaron Gordon, formerly of Magic fame? He's on the verge of a new deal with the Nuggets, who he helped lead to an NBA title two seasons ago. ... UCF's Big 12 basketball schedules are set. Guess what blue-chip program is playing here for the second year in a row on Jan. 5?

Step aside, Deion, this is UCF’s ‘Primetime’ moment | Commentary

While the nation’s eyes are always fixated on Deion Sanders, this is UCF’s big chance to steal the show and become nationally relevant once again.
