Markeith Loyd's trial begins today in killing of pregnant ex-girlfriend

Almost three years after deputies say Markeith Loyd fired at his pregnant ex-girlfriend, murdering her and their unborn child, the accused killer will stand trial starting Friday morning at the Orange County Courthouse. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Loyd, 43, who's accused of first-degree murder in the killing of 24-year-old Sade Dixon, as well as attempted slayings of Dixon's brothers and mother, the night of Dec. 13, 2016.
