Tropical Storm Jerry strengthens, is expected to be a hurricane today

Tropical Storm Jerry is close to hurricane strength Thursday morning with winds up to 70 mph as it creeps closer to the Leeward Islands, the National Hurricane Center said in its 5 a.m. update. It should become a hurricane later today.
