Fall sports are winding up. High school football is playing preseason games and the NBA released its regular-season schedule for 2023-24. If the Magic start 5-20 again, they'll likely be talking about how they can't wait for 2024-25 by Christmas. ... UF coach Billy Napier can retool the team all he wants, but if the Graham Mertz doesn't pan out or gets dinged up and has to miss time, there's a good chance his next QB will have never taken a snap in a game that counts since high school. ... Imagine UConn and Gonzaga basketball in the Big 12. It was discussed.

When will NBA champion Denver come to town? The longest homestretch? The NBA announced the full 2023-24 schedule Thursday for all 30 teams. Orlando opens training camp on Oct. 3 at the AdventHealth Training Center.

A source close to UF QB Jack Miller said he hurt his throwing shoulder while compensating for a right thumb injury suffered 12 months ago that did not properly heal. Miller broke his thumb during fall camp and underwent surgery last August.
