Sentinel Sports Final

Wednesday, December 13, 2023

FSU has an endowment and assets approaching $1 BILLION as of Sept. 30. But state officials (first the governor and now the AG) believe dedicating time and taxpayer money to "investigating" why/how the Seminoles were left out of the College Football Playoff is a priority. What next? When a state team is left out of the NCAA basketball tournament? (Subjective decision). Florida's gymnastics team lost to Oklahoma by 0.150 points in the NCAA championships last season (Subjective decision). Let's investigate (and use our tax dollars for it). Imagine what could 've gotten done if such urgency was put into fixing homeowners' insurance? ... The FHSAA is tearing up the blueprint again and getting rid of the Metro/Suburban split. How much of this is necessary and how much of this is just a way to keep busy? It shouldn't be this difficult to pick a system and stick with it for more than two years. ... USF is expected to have the No. 1 class -- in the AAC. That's a huge step up for that program given where it was a year ago. But UCF could have the No. 2 class in the Big 12. Which is more impressive?
