Sentinel Sports Final

Wednesday, April 10, 2024

The Magic had a chance to put everyone in the East under duress by winning on the road at losing Houston. But this time of year is different. Teams out of the playoffs are still playing for something (contracts for next year) and the Play-In tournament has made the final week of the season more intriguing. Everyone wants to avoid the Play-In. One of the few good decisions by Commish Adam Silver. ... UConn or the Gators? Winning back-to-back titles in a one-and-done, monthlong tournament is incredibly difficult. They're all special for their own reasons. ... Wake me up when this FSU-ACC lawsuit is over. This is gonna give me a massive headache. ... I know Danny Hurley, a Jersey boy, has no intentions of leaving UConn. But why not leave it open-ended that you might talk to Kentucky with John Calipari gone? That's called negotiating leverage for a bigger contract, and no way the Huskies are going to let him walk. Don't tell me he has enough money. That's not the point. It 's about his value on the market and he's the best coach in college basketball. Period.
