| Cuban sandwich smackdown in Orlando A sandwich layered with tradition and memories is the focus of a very meaty competition this weekend. The 5th annual International Cuban Sandwich Festival is Saturday at Valencia College's Kirkman Road campus in Orlando. | | Disney: Epcot Food & Wine Festival longer this year The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will run for 62 days this year, an increase of more than a week from the 2015 edition, which was 53 days, Disney World announced Wednesday evening. The 2016 festival will begin Sept. 14 and end on Nov. 14. | Music | Richard Marx set for Velvet Sessions concert WHAT: Richard Marx, the man who brought us '80s hits such as "Don't Mean Nothing," "Endless Summer Nights" and "Right Here Waiting," is this month's performer at Velvet Sessions, the lobby concert (and cocktail party) at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando. Marx, who married Daisy Fuentes in December, also has many songwriting credits to his name, including works for or with Luther Vandross ("Dance With My Father"), SheDaisy, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, 98 Degrees, 'N Sync ("This I Promise You"), Josh Groban, Billy Ray Cyrus, Toni Braxton, Daughtry, Ringo Starr and dozens of others. Admission includes the concert, select specialty drinks, finger foods and valet parking. | | Vince Gill & Lyle Lovett in Daytona Beach WHAT: It is always exciting to see two stars share the same stage. Think of how thrilling it was to watch Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra rib each other at Caesar's Palace, or the joy it brought to comic fans to finally see Iron Man and Captain America bicker in "The Avengers." So it's heartwarming to hear that two country legends are not only touring together, they're performing together. | Movies | 'The Witch' review: Puritan family falls under spell of a demon In 1999, when the Internet was young and our hearts were blithe and bonny, the found-footage horror film "The Blair Witch Project" was brought to market on a production budget of well under a million dollars. It went on to make nearly a quarter-billion worldwide. Its aesthetic seemed novel back then, before all the "Paranormal Activitys" and visual copycats. With its shrieky, hand-held, shaky-cam approach to fright, the scruffy li'l movie connected with a new generation eager to get freaked out by this thing that seemed to be some sort of snuff film that snuck into the multiplex. | | 'Race' review: Jesse Owens biopic doesn't relay enough about Olympian Thanks to "Olympia," filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl's two-part documentary fantasia on the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the eternal film image of Jesse Owens is that of a calm, then fiercely competitive, then jubilant American dominating the Germans and everyone else, in the air (the long jump) and on the track. | Arts & Culture | Your art-to-do list There's a variety of happenings this week: museum lectures, outdoor festivals, international exhibitions and artsy fundraisers.
