Good morning. It's Wednesday, November 23. Two weeks after his election victory, Donald Trump began backing off campaign promises, including his hard line on climate change and his vow to jail "Crooked Hillary" Clinton that had brought thunderous "Lock her up" chants at his rallies.

President Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to a glittering assembly of Silicon Valley, Hollywood, sports and rock stars including Bruce Springsteen, Diana Ross, Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, Bill and Melinda Gates, and basketball greats Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
