Good morning. It's Thursday, February 9. President Trump's escalating attacks on the federal judiciary drew denunciation from his Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, who told a senator that the criticism was "disheartening" and "demoralizing" to independent federal courts.

Five circus performers were seriously injured in a fall Wednesday when a pyramid stunt involving famed tightrope walker Nik Wallenda went awry, Sarasota Fire-Rescue said.
