Good morning. It's Friday, Feb. 16. The former student accused of killing 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland has confessed, according to detectives, and thousands attended a vigil to mourn the victims.

Meanwhile, parents in Central Florida want schools to do more to protect their children in the aftermath of the South Florida tragedy. One area mom wondered: "We protect our courthouses. We protect our jails. We protect our government buildings. Why can't we protect our schools the same way?''
