Orlando Morning Report

Good morning! It's Saturday, March 6 and I'm Richard Tribou, editor of the Audience team at the Orlando Sentinel. One of my favorite beats to which I lend a hand is space, and this week made for some interesting coverage. The highlight had to be the latest attempt of SpaceX to test its Starship prototype rocket, which looked like it had made a successful flight without blowing up like the two previous test flights. But then a few minutes after sticking the landing, it exploded. Also this week, researchers revealed they had discovered something they called a "space hurricane," which was 620 miles wide across the North Pole and raining electrons. Fans of Kennedy Space Center Visitor's Complex will be happy about news it is reopening its Apollo/Saturn V Center in late March. And for those of you interested in staying home, but looking up, be sure to check out reporter Joe Mario Pedersen's monthly night sky feature to see which stars and planets will be worth a look this weekend and beyond. Now, here's the rest of today's news ...
