Sentinel Sports Final

Friday, June 21, 2024

The Lakers did it. They've officially gone from NBA franchise to a reality show on the level of the Kardashians. Unless they're championship level good (and with LBJ and AD that guarantees they'll at least be decent as in have a winning record), hiring former Magic guard JJ Redick comes with little upside. What a way to learn the ropes on the most marquee team in the league. ... The Pride are on a down swing, getting just two points in the last two games. They 're still undefeated for the season and were playing away from home. They're back at Inter&Co Stadium tonight. ... The Gators have a lot to be proud of. They didn't return to the CWS final but came close after a season that looked anything but promising. ... Leave it to the NCAA to fix something -- the NCAA Tournament -- that's not broken by trying to add more teams. Guess what then? There'll still be teams/schools claiming they were snubbed by the selection committee. The driving force, of course, is 🤑. More games = more 💰. That the product gets watered down is immaterial.
