Sentinel Sports Final

Wednesday, May 8, 2024

It doesn't take coach Jamahl Mosley and team prez Jeff Weltman to realize what the Magic need: Shooting. How do you get it without losing what they've built organically? That 's why their paychecks have all those zeroes. That's the needle they must thread. But standing pat means you 're falling behind. ... Schools directly paying players is coming. It's just a matter of when. There are a bunch of wins for a lot of programs that have been vacated over the years for this very thing. Time to restore Jim Boeheim's wins and those Final 4 banners for the Fab 5. This was all ridiculous in the first place. ... The Rays are cooking but still have a long way to go. ... The Cavs have no shot against the Celtics. The Magic were a long shot, too, but they weren't solely reliant on undersized guards to create for everyone else. And Boston is loaded with big, physical players like Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Bown who can defend in space and tower over Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. .. The Nuggets are reeling. I thought this matchup with Minnesota was a toss up. But it might be lopsided instead. ... If Panthers want to flip the series with Boston, they've got to turn around their power play.
