Sentinel Sports Final

Wednesday, May 22, 2024

Like Jason in Friday The 13th, this Jaden Rashada/pay-for-play issue with Florida just won't go away. It goes to show you when recruiting, as a lot of coaches are learning today, you must understand the people around that player who you're ultimately doing business with because they may become your problem, too. ... The Pacers had a chance to knock the Celtics on their heels in Game 1 and blew it. Late turnovers and a decision not to foul and force 2 FTs with a three-point lead and 10 seconds left led to a tying 3 and an OT loss. If they lose this series they can look back at this moment and coach Rick Carlisle has to ask himself if his stategy to not foul in this situation, which has backfired now THREE times and led to playoff losses, needs to be reconsidered. ... Jalen Suggs making All-Defense is well-deserved. I'd have put him first team instead of second, swapping places with Jrue Holiday who is an excellent defender himself for a long time. Boston's record made the difference, but for Suggs to be considered one of the 10 best in the entire league (450-plus players) is something else. ... UCF baseball has a chance to make the field for the CWS.
