Florida coach Kevin O'Sullivan and the Gators beat UConn 8-2 and Texas Tech 7-1 to set up a winner-take-all rematch with the Red Raiders June 5, 2023 for a trip to the NCAA super regionals. UF last advance out of regionals in 2018.

Novak Djokovic has broken a tie with rival Rafael Nadal by reaching the French Open quarterfinals for the record 17th time. Djokovic was never truly in trouble during a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Juan Pablo Varillas on Sunday. Djokovic is closing on bettering Nadal in a more prestigious category: Grand Slam singles championships. Both currently sit at 22. Djokovic will face No. 11 Karen Khachanov next. No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz beat Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets. Elina Svitolina, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Karolina Muchova advanced to the women's quarterfinals. Pavlyuchenkova was the runner-up at Roland Garros in 2021 but missed last year's tournament with a knee injury.

Purdue's Edey returning to school at NBA draft deadline; Kentucky's Tshiebwe stays in

Wednesday marked the deadline for players who were early entrants to the NBA draft to withdraw and return to college basketball. The list of returnees includes Purdue's 7-foot-4 center Zach Edey after being named Associated Press national player of the year. There's also national champion Connecticut getting back guard Tristen Newton. But Kentucky big man Oscar Tshiebwe is staying in the draft as a former AP national player of the year. UCLA returned Pac-12 freshman of the year Adem Bona. Michigan State retained guards Jaden Akins and A.J. Hoggard. Other returnees included Tennessee's Josiah-Jordan James and Illinois' Terrence Shannon Jr.

Orlando City earns fourth road win against New York Red Bulls

The Lions defeated the New York Red Bulls 3-0 on the road behind two goals from Facundo Torres and Ivan Angulo's first assist. Orlando City also beat the Red Bulls in the regular-season opener for both teams at Exploria Stadium in February.

Wembanyama's NBA summer debut may come in Sacramento, not Las Vegas

Victor Wembanyama's NBA summer debut might come in Sacramento. The San Antonio Spurs hold the No. 1 pick in the June 22 draft and are widely expected to choose Wembanyama. They're among six teams that will play in Sacramento at the California Classic, one of the smaller summer leagues that precedes the one where all NBA teams participate in Las Vegas. Also in the California Classic: The Charlotte Hornets, who hold the No. 2 draft pick. The Spurs and Hornets will open their schedules in Sacramento against one another, meaning the No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the draft could face off in their summer league opener.
