Sentinel Sports Final

Wednesday, June 14, 2023

Miami, FAU (college basketball), Heat (NBA) and Panthers (NHL) have one thing in common besides being underdogs in their sports who made impropable runs. They made it all to final stages and had a chance to pull off major upsets but went 0-for-4. None managed to break through. Quipped Sun Sentinel Dolphins beat writer David Furones via Twitter, "City of Near Champions." Collect enough LeBron James runner-up trophies and eventually they'll be counted as "championships." Haven't you heard? It's 2023. That's what we do now. Enough big losses can equal wins 🤷 ... The next big thing? The NBA draft next week and those Nos. 6 and 11 picks for Orlando. Would be shocked if they used both and didn't move off one for a team in need of a veteran.
