Sentinel Sports Final

Friday, September 15, 2023

So what's a "statement game?" No seriously. It's a sports cliche that I've never understood. What if you lose but win the next nine games instead? Or what if you win this "statement game" and never win another game this season? What's the statement? No one has ever been able to answer this riddle. Shoot me an email, would ya? I'll shout you out next time. ... The G League Showcase coming to Orlando for the next four years is a big deal. It's not Las Vegas Summer League, but I remember going in 2011 to South Padre Island, Texas. The most miserable trip of my life. Flew to Houston. Then to Brownsville on a death trap of a small-engine plane. Then drove two hours. Fans aren 't allowed so it didn't matter. This move suggests a move in the opposite direction. ... The U routed Bethune-Cookman. Not sure that means anything but they are 3-0. ... The Rays are in position to make this an entertaining finish to the regular season with Baltimore.
